Wei-Chuan USA Creative Recipe! Dumpling Waffle for National Waffle Week

Chicken & Waffles just got better. Celebrate National Waffle Week with @weichuanusa.inc Frozen Dumplings. These dumplings are super convenient & easy to prepare whether you like them boiled, steamed, or fried! To level up your chicken & waffles, take your favorite batter recipe & add boiled dumplings, green onions, & sesame seeds to give them even more flavor! Top with prepared chicken tenders & homemade hot honey for a lot of sweet & a little heat!

  • Wei-Chuan USA Chicken & Pork Frozen Dumplings, boiled
  • Prepared Chicken Tenders
  • Hot Honey
  • Scallion whites, shredded
  • Toasted White Sesame Seeds

 

Additional Ingredients

WAFFLE BATTER

  • 2 ¼ c AP Flour
  • ¼ c Sugar
  • 2 TB Light Brown Sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 TB Baking Powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 c whole milk
  • ½ c butter, melted
  • 2 TB Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ c Scallion, chopped greens only
  • 2 TB Black Sesame

HOT HONEY

  • 1 c Honey
  • ¼ c Sriracha
  • ¼ c Sugar
  • 2 TB Gochugaru
  • 2 TB Lao Gan Ma Chili Crisp
  • 2 TB Apple Cider Vinegar

 

Cooking instructions

Cooking time may vary based on equipment and quantity cooked in equipment. Must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F or above as measured by using a thermometer.

Boil dumplings as directed on packaging and drain. Toss with neutral oil to prevent from sticking. Set aside.

Combine dry ingredients and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together wet ingredients until well combined. Add dry ingredients to wet until a batter is formed. Stir in scallion and black sesame

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil then reduce heat to allow to simmer.

Prepare waffles according to your waffle iron manufacturer’s directions. Add boiled dumplings to waffle iron after pouring in batter. Quantity depends on the size of your waffle iron. Cook until crisp. Keep warm in the oven on a wire rack. Top with chicken tenders, hot honey, & garnish with shredded scallion and toasted sesame seeds.
