Make these delicious Indian style tandoori dumplings at home and get ready to feel the burst of flavors. Tandoori dumpling is a serious upgrade of normal dumplings which are marinated in a tandoori paste and then chargrilled/pan seared to get a juicy and crusty perfection.
In a bowl, combine the plain yogurt, tandoori masala, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix well to make the tandoori marinade.
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the premade chicken stuffing in the center of the wrapper. Fold the dumpling wrapper enclosing the stuffing in any shape you want and press the edges together firmly to seal. Repeat this process with the remaining dumpling wrappers and stuffing.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once the pan is hot, carefully place the dumplings in the pan, making sure they are in a single layer and not touching each other. Cook the dumplings for about 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms turn golden brown.
Reduce the heat to low and add about 1/4 cup of water to the pan. Be cautious as the water may cause splattering. Cover the pan with a lid and let the dumplings steam for about 6-8 minutes, or until they are cooked through, and the wrappers are tender.
Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Allow any excess water to evaporate, and let the dumplings crisp up slightly on the bottom for another minute or two.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the dumplings cool for a minute or two. Serve them with a mint sauce.
