🍔 May 28th is National Hamburger Day 🍔 and what better way to celebrate than making cheeseburgers… but with a twist! We used @weichuanusa Green Onion Rolls for the buns on these super tasty sliders topped with spicy Special Sauce 🤫😏 These steamed Green Onion Rolls are fluffy and tender with a subtly sweet onion flavor that makes these sliders seriously irresistible! If you’re a lover of bao, you’re going to love these.

SPECIAL SAUCE
Steam buns as directed on packaging, and split in half carefully with serrated knife to make into slider buns. Form portions of ground beef into balls, keep chilled until ready to cook.
Prepare desired toppings, set aside.
In a preheated cast iron skillet over medium-high heat with some neutral oil, sear the ground beef portions that have been seasoned on both sides. Smash burgers gently with spatula until they are slightly larger than the bun. They will shrink as they cook. Cook for 2-3 min on each side.
If using cheese: place on burger after flipping, splash with some water and cover immediately to allow steam to melt cheese.
Assemble burgers by spreading special sauce on the top bun. Place cooked burger on bottom bun and add desired toppings.
Serve with fries or chips and enjoy!
