Our Story & Values

“High quality food built on a legacy of flavor”

In the 1970s, our founders, brothers Thomas and Robert Huang, had recently immigrated from Taiwan and discovered that something was missing for themselves and other Chinese food enthusiasts: the authentic flavors and experiences of the meals that they knew and loved from home. They believed that food is more than just sustenance, it is a cultural bridge that connects us to our roots and to each other. In 1972 Wei-Chuan USA was born as a result, and has been responsible for crafting generations of authentic Chinese flavors from Los Angeles, California for over five decades.

 

Today, Wei-Chuan USA carries an unwavering commitment to quality, ensuring that every meal becomes a cherished memory. With our passion for food, we insist on quality and continuously invest in technology and equipment. Our two manufacturing facilities are both USDA Grant of Inspection Establishments and FDA-approved plants, complying with certified HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) programs, detailed GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) programs, and SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operation Procedure) to ensure the quality of our products. We make every effort to provide our customers with products that are produced according to the highest industrial best practices.

 

We want everyone to experience our “comprehensive flavors”, whether it’s the taste of home or an entirely new revelation. The name “Wei-Chuan” means more to us than a simple brand. It's an exploration of Chinese cuisine.

Our Classic Dumpling Series, Dumpling King was born.

 

In the early '90s, after meticulous market research and the dedicated efforts of our R&D team, we embarked on a mission to bring authentic Chinese dumplings to households across America. The result? The launch of our iconic Dumpling King series. Now, after several decades, that exquisite, nostalgic taste still holds a special place in our hearts.

In 2006, we expanded beyond our Los Angeles facility and established a second plant in Tennessee. Wei-Chuan is committed to offering a diverse range of products and providing consumers with more choices. In this expansion, we aimed to bring authentic Chinese cuisine to households across North America, ensuring that everyone can savor the true flavors of China.
