It\u2019s equally satisfying and delicious.<\/h6>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h6>Shout out to Menchie for designing this special recipe for Wei-Chuan USA!<\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2667 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.weichuanusa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/945D851C-D3CB-465C-94EB-35E28CF02339-min-scaled-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"556\" height=\"695\" \/> <\/p>\n<h6>Ingredients:<\/h6>\n<p>*can be adjusted to personal preference<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Bao Buns<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1 pack Wei-Chuan USA Lotus Leaf Bun (regular size 12\/pack)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pork Belly Adobo <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1 lb pork belly, thinly sliced <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup soy sauce <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup vinegar <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup water <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>8 cloves of garlic, crushed <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 tbsp sugar freshly cracked black pepper <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2 dried bay leaves <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Garnish\/Toppings: <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Japanese Mayo <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cucumber Slices<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fried garlic<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Homemade Pickled Red Onion <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2 medium red onions thinly sliced, 8 peppercorns and 1 bayleaf <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Brine: 1\/2 cup hot water, 1\/2 cup vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp salt<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Methods<\/h6>\n<p>*must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165\u00b0F or above as measured by using a thermometer<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>In a pan place pork belly slices and add all the seasonings and aromatics. Cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes until most of the liquid has been absorbed by the pork then set aside. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Heat a cast iron pan on high and sear the pork belly slices until slightly charred. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Steam the lotus leaf buns for 6-8 minutes or you can also heat them in the microwave for about 90 seconds. To assemble: spread Japanese mayo, add cucumber slices, 2 slices of pork belly adobo, pickled red onions and fried garlic.
