Our quality philosophy encompasses safety and environmental issues as well as product quality and service. Each employee of Wei-Chuan is committed to produce a quality product that will satisfy our customer’s expectations. We implement control programs at every step, which starts from screening qualified suppliers, received materials until the final quality check on finished product for each shipment, and updated regulatory requirements, to ensure all products that leave Wei-Chuan are safe and have the highest quality.
All incoming materials have to pass our various inspections, review of certifications, and lab-testing before entering our facility. The QA team randomly audits the supplier and keeps a two-way communication with the supplier and purchasing department to ensure the safety and quality of the material. Before production, Standard Sanitation Operation Procedures are followed and evaluated by the QC Technicians. Our trained QC personnel regularly monitor the quality of our products using special instruments. Each product is analyzed for its chemical characteristics and organoleptically tasted for quality control. All finished products are allowed to be shipped out of our plant only after all QC records are verified. Our quality monitoring system continues at the warehouse where our line inspector performs the last quality check for all products before it reaches our customers.
Our quality departments are responsible in carrying out the FDA food defense program and overseeing the development and maintenance of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system. This science-based system, monitored by the USDA, covers all types of potential food safety hazards: biological, physical and chemical, whether they are naturally occurring in the food, contributed by the environment, or generated by a flaw in the manufacturing process.
In addition to the HACCP program, our food safety assurance systems include GMP programs and other pre-requisite programs such as pre-operational and operational sanitation inspection, product temperature audits, employee training, temperature verification on shipping trailers, allergen control programs, glass control programs, customer complaints and recall programs, and vendor audits. The QA department works closely with other related departments like Purchasing, Research and Development, Quality Control and Plant Management to ensure that the regulatory information is up-to-date and that safety and quality is the top priority of our products.
